The NYU Clinical Cancer Center's Supportive Services Program provides emotional and practical support services to enhance the quality of life for patients living with cancer, family members, loved ones and caregivers.
Social Work Services
Counseling; support groups; patient seminars and workshops; programs for caregivers, teenagers, and children; reproductive health; inpatient services coordination; medical team communication; pain management; crisis intervention; psychiatric referrals; integrative health programs; survivorship matters; home healthcare referrals; referrals to community resources; palliative care and hospice coordination.
Psycho-Oncology Matters
Psychiatric evaluations and referrals, crisis intervention, psychopharmacological assessment and treatment, psychiatric counseling, resident and clinical staff training, patient seminars and workshops, pain management, palliative care, physician and clinical staff consultation, inpatient services coordination.
Nutrition Education
Registered dieticians for cancer nutrition education, nutrition workshops, nutrition counseling, nutrition lectures, therapeutic diets, nutrition therapy (parenteral nutrition), nutrition tips for caregivers, healthy living guidelines, medical team communication.
Genetics Counseling
Genetic counselors for genetics screenings, genetics counseling, hereditary cancers.
Physical Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation services, physical therapy, lymphedema (limb swelling) clinic at the NYU Clinical Cancer Center with Rusk Institute professional staff.
Artist-in-Residence Program
Pairs artists with cancer patients, family members, and hospital staff for bedside and small-group art therapy (drawing, painting, collage).
Straight Talk to Kids
A guide to help parents and adults talk to children who have a parent or family member with cancer. How to talk with children, how to find out how the child is feeling, how to help children ask questions about cancer, how to help children cope with cancer.

Support groups for gynecologic cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, breast cancer, BRCA gene mutations.
